Steve Cotner
Steve was an undercover narcotics investigator in the mid 70’s working both in the public and private sectors. In 1977 he joined his late father, Richard D. Cotner, and created Corporate Intelligence Consultants. Steve has received extensive training from internationally recognized experts in the area of electronic countermeasures. He has been providing this bug detection service for corporate clients since 1980. Throughout his career at CIC, Steve has taught numerous seminars on loss prevention and investigating thefts. He is a graduate from Owens Community College in Law Enforcement and Bowling Green State University in Criminal Justice. He has been an active member of The American Society for Industrial Security, a three-time former Toledo Chapter Chair of ASIS, a member of The Ohio Association of Security and Investigation Services. In 2005 Steve was appointed by Governor Bob Taft to serve on the Ohio Private Investigation and Security Services Commission, and later, reappointed by Governor Ted Strickland. Commissioner Cotner was chosen to chair the Private Investigation Subcommittee. Steve serves as a trustee for the YMCA of Greater Toledo and is an active member of the Rotary Club of Perrysburg.
